Aquatics Instructor and Performance Coach

Job Summary
The School-Wide Aquatics Instructor and Performance Coach is responsible for the instruction in a variety of aquatics programs at Seoul Foreign School, including
Curricular Swim Classes
Extracurricular Swim Programs
Key Responsibilities
Assist with the organization, coordination, and delivery of the curricular swim classes
Provide learn to swim lessons across Primary Years Schools (ES, KS1/KS2) in collaboration with the Aquatics Coordinator, Aquatics Instructor, and the Physical Education faculty.
Provide instruction across the Middle Years Program (MS/HS) in collaboration with the Aquatics Coordinator, Aquatics Instructor, and the Physical Education faculty.
Lead the organization, coordination, and delivery of extra-curricular swimming programs (Developmental & Competitive Programs/Teams) in collaboration with the Aquatics Coordinator.
Assist in the preparation of the pool calendar and support of pool events for curricular and extracurricular activities.
Assist with the set-up, execution, and take-down of “home” swim events.
Complete in-service and professional development where necessary.
Instruct, evaluate students, complete and maintain records and reports.
Assist in the maintenance, security, cleanliness, and safety of the aquatics facility.
Communicate regularly with students and their parents, as appropriate, to ensure they are aware of progress.
Recognize and respond effectively in emergencies in accordance with facility emergency action plans.
Complete additional duties as assigned
Regular late morning starts with afternoon, evening, and Saturday coaching requirements. This includes 50% Aquatics Instructor responsibility with the potential of up to 50% after-school performance coaching.
Professional Qualifications and Experience
Teaching Degree and/or Swim Coaching Qualifications Required.
Water Safety Instructor certificate or equivalent.
First Aid, CPR Certification.
Lifeguard Certification (Lifeguard Instructor preferred).
High-level understanding of stroke technique and development of swimming skills, such as Learn to Swim.
Experience working in a school swim program or competitive club setting.
Knowledge of relevant technology, including skills using Google Suite for Education and Hy-tek software.
ASCA (American Swimming Coaches Association) level 3 or equivalent preferred.
Minimum of two years of experience working as a swimming instructor.
Minimum of two years of experience working with a year-round swim program or international school preferred.
