About the Position
The Greater Pensacola Aquatic Club (GPAC), a longstanding USA Swimming and Southeastern Swimming program, is seeking a positive, motivated, and experienced Head Age Group Coach. This fulltime role is ideal for a coach who loves developing young athletes, thrives in a team environment, and is eager to contribute to a growing, communityfocused program.
What We Are Looking For
A coach who is:

- Skilled at communicating with swimmers, parents, and staff
- Organized, proactive, and committed to elevating team culture
- Comfortable coaching within an established but evolving longterm development model
- Ready to be an integral part of a collaborative coaching staff
- This position will report directly to the head coach/CEO and includes 25–30 hours per week on deck, coaching 10–15 practices over 6 days, plus 1–2 meets per month.
Coaching Responsibilities
- Lead GPAC’s Age Group (14 & Under) program
- Assist the Head Coach with select Senior Group practices (including some morning sessions)
- Develop swimmers of all levels with a focus on technique, skills, and longterm progression
- Implement daily training aligned with the team’s overall training plan
- Coordinate drills, training methods, and group goals with assistant coaches
- Design and oversee seasonal training plans (with Head Coach approval)
- Manage group placement, advancement standards, and lane organization
- Communicate promptly and professionally with parents, athletes, and staff
- Represent GPAC at all assigned meets and team events
- Recruit, mentor, and help supervise parttime assistant coaches
- Maintain and update team equipment and technology
Operations Responsibilities
- Manage daily site operations, including pool space allocation
- Maintain the pool office (organization, supplies, office hours)
- Assist with home meet operations (must be able to lift 40–50 lbs.)
- Support auxiliary programs such as clinics, summer league, and swim school
- Maintain regular weekly office hours as directed by the Head Coach
DrySide & Administrative Responsibilities
- Collaborate on short and longterm strategic planning
- Handle administrative tasks: calendars, meet entries, communication, onboarding new members
- Participate in staff meetings
- Support social media presence and team communications
- Assist with team events, fundraisers, and annual celebrations
Qualifications
- Hold or be able to obtain all USA Swimming coaching requirements (required)
- Competitive swimming background (required)
- Prior coaching experience, preferably USA Swimming or YMCA (required)
- ASCA Level 2 certification (preferred)
- Experience with TeamUnify, HyTek, Microsoft Office, Google Drive (required)
- Familiarity with Colorado Timing Systems (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation (required)
- Ability to move equipment for meets and training (required)
- Legally able to work in the United States--employer will not assist in gaining work visas or legal employment

GPAC is a parentrun 501(c)(3) nonprofit with 170+ competitive swimmers, a thriving swim school (80+ monthly participants), a masters program, seasonal clinics, and summer league offerings.
We train at two collegebased facilities:
A 6lane, 25yard pool
An 8lane, 50meter pool
