Summer Youth Swim Team – Assistant Coach
Foxridge Foxes Swim Team – Centennial, CO
The Foxridge Foxes Swim Team is seeking an energetic, enthusiastic, and motivated Assistant
Coach for our summer season. This is a part-time, seasonal position based in Centennial,
Colorado. The Assistant Coach will work closely with the Head Coach, Junior Coaches, and
parent volunteers to create a fun, competitive, and inclusive summer swim experience for
approximately 130 swimmers, ages 5–18.
This position is ideal for coaches who are passionate about swimming, enjoy working with
youth, and are eager to help develop the next generation of coaches through mentorship of our
Junior Coach program.
Time Commitment
Available from May 26, 2026, through July 18, 2026
Coach five morning practices per week (7:30 am – 10:45 am)
Dedicate approximately 6 hours each Saturday for swim meets: May 30, June 6, June
13, June 20, June 27, July 11, and July 18
Dedicate approximately 2 hours on 2 evenings for Preliminary meets: July 7 & July 8
Attend team-sponsored social events
Additional time for administrative duties, practice planning, and meet preparation
Essential Duties
Assist the Head Coach in managing the swim team and instructing participants in rules,
regulations, equipment, and techniques
Organize and direct swim practices, including stroke and turn clinics
Assess swimmer skills and monitor athletes during practices and competitions
Assist with developing and executing meet strategies
Mentor and coach the Junior Coach program, helping younger coaches gain experience
and build leadership skills
Follow established procedures in the event of an injury
Model sportsmanlike behavior and maintain professional conduct with swimmers,
parents, and staff
Maintain swim equipment and assist with team logistics
Collaborate with the coaching team to facilitate team-building activities and promote a
positive team environment
Minimum Qualifications
Prior experience as a swim coach or instructor preferred
Strong coaching techniques and instructional skills
Working knowledge of swim rules, strategies, and techniques
Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with swimmers, Junior Coaches, and
parents
CPR certification required
A genuine passion for working with children and young adults
Commitment to fostering a fun, safe, and inclusive team environment
Must successfully complete a background check prior to employment
Salary and Benefits
Compensation Range: $2,500–$3,500, based on qualifications and experience
Tennis and Swim Club Membership for the coach and immediate family during the
summer season
Opportunity to mentor Junior Coaches and gain leadership experience
